Picking Pumpkins

So last Monday, for our FHE activity, we picked our pumpkins from our garden. You don't realize how many you have hiding under all those vines, but after cutting and loading them into the wheelbarrow and wagon, we were once again amazed! My kids have so much fun choosing the seeds in the spring, planting and watching them grow all summer. We grow "Big Macs" that are 25+ lbs, small "baby" ones, white pumpkins and even carving pumpkins. It's one of my kids favorite activities and love helping with every step. Austin still doesn't understand why we can't carve them tonight, but they already have one picked out with their names on it ready for that special evening in a few weeks!

Great pumpkins Camille!! Our luck didn't hold with our pumpkins this year. They finally started to grow about a month ago, so no carving ones unfortunately. How fun for the kids!

Wow! Great crop!! How much fun! Another reason I miss Utah. My parents have pumpkins too, so I really dislike having to buy them at the grocery store.
