Fall Harvest

We are getting to be known in our neighborhood as the pumpkin growers. We have quite a large garden and it seems that my kids each choose to grow a different variety of pumpkin in their little section of garden that we give them to plant, weed and take care of. Megan grew mini pumpkins, Austin choose white pumpkins and Nathan planted the Atlantic Giant Variety. We also planted jack-o-lantern variety so we would have some medium size to carve. Anyway, after four months of growing it was harvest time! Not counting the 80 mini pumpkins, we picked over 30 pumpkins! We even found 2 big beautiful pumpkins that the vine grew under the fence and didn't know were there! The best part of harvesting is watching the kids get so excited to share them with others. After giving some to my parents and other family, we invite over several families in our neighborhood to take them home. It  is great seeing them so excited to share something that they worked so hard to grow and enjoy giving them to make others happy!
