The month of December was full of fun festivities for the holidays. Each week we had parties, family and even a birthday to celebrate. These are a few things we did together as a family.
We went to see the lights at Temple Square... Always a tradition and always a favorite.
We went on a "Polar Express" Train Ride and visited Santa. My sweet sister, Emily, is a teacher in Alpine School District and was invited to receive free family passes to this Christmas Train Event. Since she doesn't have any kids yet (she's expecting twins in June!), she gave them to us. It was cold, but a fun adventure. It's hard to see, but we are sitting in a train! A family built a track with tunnels, bridges and paths all around their property and neighbors (who are also family). On your ride, you pass lights, settings and different posters of painting of Christ with different events in his life. It was touching!
A week-end trip to Idaho, to visit Mike's family and grandparents and had our Herbst Christmas party.
Grandpa-Great, Mike and Jaron
Singing Christmas songs with Grandpa and his guitar.
Girl cousins-Kate, Megan and Reygan
Thank you Grandma!
On December 27th, was Mike's Birthday. This was the first time we haven't been traveling or having some kind of Christmas Party. It was great. He had the whole week off of work between Christmas and New Years and so the night before, I got a babysitter and took him out to see a double feature. Tron and Harry Potter. (We never go to the movies on a date anymore) Then to dinner at Texas Roadhouse (His new favorite!) The the next morning we picked up the kids and went to the famous "Sills Diner" for the best breakfast. They have scones the size of your plate! Later in the day we took the kids swimming. It always seem like such a treat to go swimming when there is snow outside. We played all day and then had family over for an ice-cream cake. Happy Birthday Mikey! We love you so much!
