Last night after Family Home Evening, we went out to our garden and picked 3 buckets of apples from our apple tree and then clipped all of our pumpkins growing in our pumpkin patch. We were racing with the sun setting so fast and early! As a family, harvesting from our garden has become something our kids really look forward to. I remember always doing the same things as a child and really wanted my kids to have this experience with planting, taking care of and seeing the rewards of hard work from a large garden. I always have volunteers to pick peaches, beans, tomatoes, apples, watermelon, and especially pumpkins! A few of them were bigger than Megan! The best part is that we always grow enough to share. After my kids choose a couple for themselves, we make pumpkin tickets with invitations and hand them out to our neighbors and friends. Then in a couple of days, we have a night they come to our house to redeem their tickets for any pumpkin big or small and hand out donuts and hot coco. This will be our 3rd year doing this and it has become a fun tradition for our neighbors to look forward to each year.

Camille what a fun idea! That picture of Megan on the pumpkin is so cute! I need to take some notes from you on how to make a good garden, those pumpkins are awesome!
Camille! What an amazing crop you had! I was pretty proud of the pumpkins we yielded until I saw the pictures of yours and Cody's! You guys did great! They make mine look pretty puny...oh well, there's always next year. I'll have to find out what kind of seeds you use! Cute pictures! Give the kids a kiss for me!
Wow! Love your pumpkins and we can't believe all the apples you picked from your tree! We love the fall!
