Many of you know that Mike and I have have wanted to go to Scotland to visit Mike's mission since we were first married. In fact, on our honeymoon, we took some time and sat down and made some goals together. We made long and short term goals that were personal and family goals. The list consisted of spiritual, financial, educational, things about our kids, home and other dreams of things we wanted to do together. Well, on that list was to save and be able to go where he served his mission for our 10-year anniversary. Okay, so we just celebrated our 12th, but tried to go for our 10th and had a few bumps in the road that delayed us a few years that included a small kitchen fire and Austin life-flighted to Primary Children's hospital. All in that same year. Nevertheless, we made this a goal and are going to be able to fulfill this trip of a lifetime. We leave early on Wed. July 30th and will be spending the next few weeks in Paris, (to see if I can remember my high school and college days of French class), Scotland, (Mike's mission), Ireland, (where Mike's dad served his mission), and London (a place I've wanted to go since I was a little girl). We will be leaving our cute kids with family and between Grandparents and Aunts and Uncles they are going to be having a vacation of their own.
We are going to bring our laptop and some of our accommodations will be having Internet access, so I will try to update our blog with the places we've been. If not, I will post when I return. I am both ecstatic and a little nervous going. I've never left my kids for more than 3-4 days and I am going to miss them terribly. But, what a chance of a lifetime and how blessed I am to be able to go and share this experience with my best friend.

Yeah! We are so excited for you guys, you deserve it! We will be waiting for pictures when you get back! And the kids will be great! I have no room to talk, because I've never left mine, so I'm sure it will be hard. But, just take each day you just have Mike alone and enjoy it! Those times don't come often!
you are going to have the BEST time, i am so excited for you two! i can't wait to see the photos and hear all the funny and crazy stories you will inevetably come home with. enjoy every second of it!
i don't know if you are planning on it or not, but i highly recommend a trip to stonehenge with a stop in bath along the way. it's a great way to see some of the countryside and a smaller (ancient) english town. and stonehenge, of course, will leave you speechless.
