End of School...Beginning of Summer

Last day of school tradition...popsicles at bus stop and banner to welcome summer
Yesterday was the LAST day of school! Like many other kids, they have been counting down for a long time. They all are excited for no more homework, getting up so early each day and the papers and projects, but this year each of them individually came and cuddled with me to explain why they were feeling sad that school has come to an end.
Nathan was sad to say good-bye to Snow Horse Elementary, the 6th grade and from being the "oldest" to now going to Jr. High next year and being the "youngest".  Austin was sad to say good-bye to his wonderful teacher, Mrs. Jensen and some of his friends. Megan, well she was sad all week that Mrs. Marlor (formally Ms. Liddell), wasn't going to be her teacher next year. For several months, she has "played school" in her room, pretending to be her teacher. She has wrote her many notes saying that she is going to miss her this summer, drawn pictures of her teacher and cried that she has to have another teacher for 1st grade. I love that she had such a great experience and loves school.
