Drive thru Doctor

So today was a day of up and downs. A busy day with a long list of "To Do" things with church, work, getting ready for school to start and the never ending list of yard work. It's also my Dad's Birthday, who is serving a mission with my sweet mom in Europe. I was feeling a little homesick with them being gone and trying my best to be upbeat and have a good day. Anyway, I was getting dinner started and Megan was busy coloring, cutting and making all of her art creations. Then I heard a perilous scream. I ran upstairs to the loft, where our office is, and she was at the desk crying. "Are you okay? What happened?" was all I could say when she stuck out her arm and showed me her thumb. In making a book for her brother, she had stapled her thumb and it was nearly flush with the skin. After calming her down, I tried to sneak my fingernail under to lift it out and it wouldn't budge and was stuck. It was sore and she wouldn't let me touch it. I didn't know what to do. I loaded up the car with the kids and headed to the doctor's office. I caught our Pediatrician just leaving for the day and as soon as he saw us he came over to our car. I rolled down the windows to talk to him and when he saw what happened he walked around to Megan's window to see her finger. She was still buckled in her booster and poked her arm out the window to show him her thumb. He reached in his pocket and pulled out some tool and before we knew it, the staple was out! Megan was stunned and just looked at her thumb and back to him. A whisper of "thank you" came out of her mouth and then a big smile. It was great! He then we back to his office and came out with smartie suckers for everyone and sent us on our way. What a great doctor and I felt so grateful that he was there to help!
