June 1, 2012--The last day of school. It's a tradition at our house to really celebrate the last day of school. All the hard work, late nights, studying, projects, reports, spelling tests.... I could go on and on. It's a lot of work! Don't get me wrong. We absolutely LOVE our kids school and have had great teachers, but there comes a point where even I am ready for a break with it all. My kids take school seriously and work really hard and do well, but I am ready for summer! Warm weather, flip-flops, swimming and all the adventures summer brings. I know that summer doesn't officially start until June 21st with the Summer Solstice, but in my house it begins on the last day of school.
It's also a tradition (that I started when Nathan finished Kindergarten) to bring Popsicles to the bus stop and hand them out to all the kids on the bus to celebrate this great day! A lot of kids in the neighborhood love it and ask me every year if we'll be there with our cooler.
