Boy Scouts

S'more time!
Last weekend, Nathan went on his first scout overnighter! He was so excited to go and the weather was perfect. At this time, with the ward division that happened, there are only 2 scouts his age in the 11 yr old scout group. Talk about having one on one time with 2 scouts and 2 leaders! Anyway, they spent the night in a campground over by Willard Bay and went swimming in the lake the next morning. His leaders had the boys plan the whole trip, right down to every meal. They had to set up and take down all the equipment and tents, cook and clean up every meal and plan some activities. It was a lot of work with only two of them, but I know that he learned a lot by having to do so. Nathan loves scouts and is always asking me what he can do to pass of more requirements. As parents, we are grateful for the program and his leaders. It is really teaching him so much about responsibility, increasing a lot of skills and having good fun!
Nate set the tent up all by himself! Part of a scout requirement.

Nolan just did the same campout with the 11 year old scouts as well, and there are only three of them as well! I felt bad that the first tent he had to set up was our 10 man family tent. I got to join him, but it ended up being a low of 21°F that night. Not fun, but definitely an experience. Congrats Nathan, welcome to Scouts!
