A big surprise on Christmas morning

This year for Christmas, we by-passed the traditional gifts that mom and dad usually give to our kids Christmas morning. We finally decided after much asking, longing and begging for the last several years that it was time to add another pet member to our home. We gave our kids a puppy for Christmas!

We did a lot of research about 6 months prior of different breeds, training, and care/maintenance with this and as it got closer, it took more pleading from Mike for me to agree, but in the end I kept thinking about my childhood. I remember what it was like as a young one to have a dog as a part of our home and family. In the end, I wanted my kids to have those same memories, responsibility and friendship that only a dog can give. We had a hard time knowing if we should get a big dog, small dog, inside or outside, so we choose and in between everything dog. Mike had a Cocker Spaniel growing up, and so when we found this little girl, we fell in love with her sweet personality and her curls!

On Christmas Eve, after our special dinner and program, we told the kids that Christmas morning was going to be a little different this year and Mom and Dad had a special gift we wanted to give them, before we opened what Santa brought. The next morning, the kids woke up, came into our room and we opened our Christmas stockings. Then Mike went downstairs to get her ready and called the kids to come down. They lost all control and absolutely came apart. Squeals with delight, crying with happiness and laughter was all we heard. They didn't even look at the other presents under the tree for several hours. We finally put the puppy in her kennel, had them open one more gift and got ready for church. It was great. A Christmas they will always remember.

So excited!
The kids decided to name her, Bella, in junction with Jingle Bells and Christmas
