| Waiting for the Parade to start |
For as long as I can remember, at the end of each summer, we have taken the kids up to Blackfoot, Idaho to visit family and to see the events of the Eastern Idaho State Fair. Each year the fair always falls around Mike's mom (Shelia's) Birthday and it's a fun way to celebrate and see everyone. We left on Friday, after Mike got home from work and spent the night at his parents house. It was great to talk and to spend time with Grandma and Grandpa. The next morning, we headed over to Great Grandma and Great Grandpa's house to watch the parade. For several years, their house has been along the parade route and his sweet Grandma always ropes off a section of her yard for her family. It's not much of a parade, not even a single float, but it's who we come to see and who we see it with. Mike remembers many years as a boy going to the parade with his family. It is a tradition that has been going on for many years. My kids love it and come home with way too much candy, trinkets and even a couple of frisbees and ties.
