A few weeks ago it was Nathan's 10th Birthday. We had a great "Space Camp" party for him on Saturday with 10 of his best friends and then celebrated his "real" birthday on Sunday the 16th with our family. We made "space slime", had a astronaut scavenger hunt, then we made rockets and went outside to shoot them up 200 ft in the sky!
For his school spotlight, his 4th grade teacher requires them to make a Power Point presentation that includes pictures of them throught the years and family, places they have visited and some of their favorite things. Yep, no poster with pictures and di-cuts glued on. A Power Point presentation that they are required to do 80% of the project themselves. It is a good learning tool and they have been learning this program in computers, but he is only 10 and I knew nothing about it. If it was any accounting software with Excel formulas and spreadsheets? Snap. That would be easy. But we dug down, pulled on our boot straps and within a few days, we completed it with a success. He really did 95% of it and taught us how to use PPoint. I'll I did was teach him how to scan in a picture because for the first part of his life we didn't have digital cameras and then Mike added music to it. Anyway, here is the slide-show version of his work. Not bad for a beginner. Enjoy! Birthday Slideshow 10
