I've got a Golden Ticket!

This year for Easter we spent some long over due time at the cabin. It has been almost 6 months since we have been there. With a new baby, the holidays and a lot of family circumstances, we haven't been able to enjoy the family cabin in the beautiful mountains. With General Conference and Easter falling on the same weekend, we decided to spend it together with my family. We got to color eggs, decorate sugar cookies, play in the snow, go on Grandma Lynn's famous Easter Egg Hunt and eat all the yummy food and candy!
This year the Easter Bunny brought everyone in our family a special surprise. Mike and I decided that this was the way we were going to tell our kids about our trip we've had planned for a few months. We found some Willy Wonka candy bars and carefully put a "Golden Ticket" inside each of them. So as they went through their baskets on Sunday morning, they each noticed the Scrumpdeleumpish Candy Bar and tore into them. They love the old classic movie "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory" and to refresh their memory I had them watch it in the car on the drive up to the cabin. It was so fun watching their expressions as they opened the wrapper to see if there really was a Golden Ticket. And sure enough, Mike had made an exact replica of the ticket with our trip information on it letting them know that in two days, for Spring Break, we were going to go visit their cousins who live in New Jersey and visit all the wonderful places they live so close to. We have never been there and found a great deal on tickets we couldn't pass up a few months ago. So after the last session of General Conference that day, we cleaned up and headed home to pack for our adventure.
