A Special Day for our Family

Saturday, January 31, 2009 was a very special day for our family! Our oldest son, Nathan, was baptized! We are so proud of him and the choices he has made, the young man he is becoming and what an example he is setting for his brother and sister. It was a beautiful, clear and sunny winter day and just beautiful! He was so excited he could hardly sleep, eat and counted down this day months ago. You really wonder as a parent...have I prepared him enough for such a special and sacred day? Of course, but you really count your blessings. I can't believe how fast these years have gone by! This is a day that you think and dream of the day they are born. In the hospital you look at these special spirits and think of their first steps, their first day of school, baptism, graduating high school, mission, marriage.... it really is a rewarding day for a parent! Also, after having family at the house for a lunch, later that evening we were visiting with my parents and my sister Emily and her husband, Steve when Nathan said, "Dad, I think my tooth is going to fall out!" and Mike took some dental floss wrapped it around the tooth and plopped it out! Wow! what an exciting day. The best reward was the next day in church when Nathan, all by himself got up and shared his testimony about baptism. I cried and it was the most wonderful words I have every heard.
