Halloween

Halloween 2008

The last few days have been pretty crazy for our family. On Wednesday night, I was in charge of our Young Women Halloween Carnival. Planning, preparing and setting up was a lot of work, but it paid off with the fun that I had with my 15 Beehives and their crazy hair.

Thursday morning I went to Austin’s Kindergarten class to help with the Halloween Party for a few hours. We had a great time decorating pumpkin cookies, playing ghostly games, reading Halloween stories and singing silly songs. I ran home to eat lunch and then back to the school to help with Nathan’s class party. Thankfully, I only had to make a few changes in preparation for the 2nd grade class.

Then that evening we headed to Allison and Jeff’s house in Lindon, for our family Halloween party and to celebrate Jenna’s birthday. We have done this for several years now and it has become a very fun tradition. We had a scavenger hunt, ate yummy soup in pumpkin bread bowls and bobbed for apples. Everyone (even adult, yes Grandma and Grandpa) comes in their costumes and we love having Jenna's birthday so close to Halloween!

The next day was Halloween and my kids had the day off from school. I took them to a Primary Activity and then out to eat a Halloween lunch. We carved pumpkins, decorated the front porch and went trick or treating. Austin was running door to door and Nathan could hardly catch up. Megan figured out what was going on about 4 or 5 houses and loved standing there with her bag open wide saying "tweet pease". Afterwards, we pumped up the air mattress in the family room and watch Journey to the Center of the Earth and ate a lot of candy!!! Wow a crazy week! Well, next week is going to be even crazier, so I might as well take a deep breath and jump in!

Nathan's mummy pumpkin!

For months Nathan had decided to be Indiana Jones for Halloween. My dad has always been told that he has a slight resemblance to Harrison Ford. So this year, he dressed up as Indiana Jones as well. Nathan was excited because we had a two Indy's, a Big "Indy" and a little "Indy".

Austin was a race car driver.

And Megan was our little "bee". She was trying to sing the song "I'm bring home my baby bumble bee" all day long.
