We drove into Inverness yesterday and found a cute little B&B that we stayed in called the Corran House. We woke up to a traditional style Scottish breakfast with poached eggs, bacon, sausage, beans, mushrooms, fruit, toast and tomatoes. We drove around the town and saw Inverness Castle and then headed back down South. We stopped at the Loch Ness to see if we could see any mysterious creatures. Sorry, no water horse was found today. It was an amazing loch and we waded our toes in the water. Afterwards, we drove a few miles down the loch to explore, Urquhart Castle. Wow! This wasn’t just a castle, it was a city inside the castle with even a real mote, drawbridge, towers and even it’s own trebuchets. After Urquhart, we drove past Ben Lomand (go dad!), Ben Nevis (the UK’s tallest mountain) and also Glenfinnian (this is the famous rail bridge that they used in filming Harry Potter going to Hogwarts). This area is known as the Highlands. It was very busy because this week happens to be the famous Highland Games. After a long drive, we made it to Glasgow where Mike showed my some of his apartments he lived in and a few of the churches he attended in the area of Paisley and Pullock. As you can tell, our hotel has Internet access again. Sometimes it works and sometimes it’s not available. I’ve only paid for an hour, so there might be quite a few errors. We will be leaving for Ireland tomorrow afternoon and will not have access until we get to Liverpool England. Wish us luck; it will be hard to get Mike to leave this beautiful land. He has really felt like he has come back home. We’ve had such a great time and many wonderful memories, but miss our home and family so much and can’t wait to see them.
