In the last day we stopped by a member's home that Mike baptized, Margaret and her daughter, Jennifer, in Kilmarnock and then drove past his old flat. I can honestly say, it was in a rough part of town. I didn't feel very safe, but Mike only has good memories here and I'm grateful for that. We drove up to Stirling, Scotland and stayed at the most beautiful B&B. It was a Georgian home built in the 1700's. It had 4 floors and was decorated with every detail, even a stain-glass dome ceiling. We saw the famous Stirling Castle that Sir William Wallace visited and it was the home of Queen Mary of Scots. Also, we saw the room where she was crowned Queen when she was only 9 months old! It was very well restored and beautiful. We also drove to one of Mike's favorite castle, Londuren Castle. He found this with his companion one day while they where tracting. It is disterted and has not been lived in since a fire in 1829. Trees and vines were growing in and all around it. It had it's own beauty and was very fun to explore. Then we drove to the Falkirk Wheel. It is something that interests Mike because of his engineering background. It is a series of locks that move ships and boats to pass. It was really neat to see and a fun boat ride. We have had very good weather so far this trip, but today it did rain off and on. Mike was glad that I could experience a Scottish drizzle and was hoping that the weather would be normal for me.
