Blessings...times two!

I feel that I need to express my gratitude. For life, for my family and all that I have been given. I just returned home from the hospital where my sister, Emily, has had quite the weekend. On Friday, without any warning, she went into labor 3 months and 3 days too early! She was only 27 weeks along and pregnant with twin boys. Andrew (Baby A) was 2.6 lbs and Ethan (Baby B) is only 2.08 lbs. Emily is tired, but recovering from the emergency C-Section. I'm sure they are both a bit overwhelmed and a little in shock. I am amazed at their strength, faith and love.
As soon as I got the call at 8:01am, I dropped everything and drove an hour to American Fork Hospital. The babies were born at 8:23am and 8:24am, just 30 minutes after Emily made it to the hospital. We made it there just before the transport team took each of them to the NICU IHC Medical Center in Murray, by ambulance. We were told that they would of "Life Flighted" them, but it was snowing and they had low visibility. It was so humbling to see these tiny, adorable babies in the incubator.

I am so grateful for the priesthood and the power of prayer! They were able to anoint and bless each one before they left. Dad anointed and Stephen blessed his sons. It was amazing to see the strong hands of these priesthood holders reach through the holes in the incubator and put their fingers on the tiny head to anoint with oil and bless them.

Emily saying good-bye-

They are both struggling right now and are fighting for their lives. They are having issues with low blood pressure, lungs, and Ethan has some sort of infection. They are not sure what it is, and are treating both of them for it. They are now certain that the infection is what cause the labor and for them to come so early and there was nothing Emily or the doctors could of done to predict or prevent it from happening. We have been told that they will have to take it, hour by hour and day by day and that they have a long road a head of them... but these new little boys are fighters! They fought to get here...and their fighting to survive! The doctors have said that the next two weeks are the most critical. If they can make it, they just might survive.
Prayers are so powerful and we know that each and everyone counts. Please include them in your fast and prayers for as long as you can. We are so grateful for the love of our family and watching each cousin, neighbor, and friend pray for them ... is like nothing else. I am hopeful and know that it takes gratitude and faith to make it through the tough these times in our lives and the live of those we love.
