Today was Megan's first day of preschool! She was so excited and has been wearing her backpack everywhere for 2 weeks straight. During those 2 weeks, each night before she would go to bed, she put her backpack next to the front door and every night Mike and I would laugh to find what she has put in it. Sometimes it's a book or a toy, but one day we also found some of her lunch! Other items have been her brother's Nintendo DS, her blanket, a DVD and last night, a picture of our family. I haven't told her yet that it's only 2 days each week because when we explained that I would be taking her and that she isn't riding the bus with her brothers, she sobbed. I have always signed my kids up for the Academy Preschool, but this year we decided to do Joy School with some families in our neighborhood. It wasn't a hard decision since tution now is over $200/month for only 2 days a week and Megan already knows all her shapes, colors, numbers, letters, their phonics and can sign them (ASL). I really wanted her to experience the social and friendships she can gain from preschool and have fun with people I know and trust for the 4 hours each week. She still has 2 more years before Kindergarten and we definately can save our money! I love this little girl so much and so grateful to have her in our family!
