Palymra

The last few days of our trip we drove upstate New York to visit the historical sites of Palmyra. Since they are preparing for the 65th annual Hill Cumorah Pagent this summer, it was "off season" and only a few people where there. Each place we stopped we had a personal tour with every site. It was wonderful, beautiful and felt the spirit so strongly every place we went. It was so neat to be where it all started and one thing we didn't realize when we planned to come was that this was the time of year when it all happend as it states in the Jospeh Smith History, "early spring". The weather was warm and beautiful and we were very grateful! Here are some highlights of our visit to Palmyra.

-When we went to visit the Palmyra Temple, the Temple President just happend to stop by to lock the gates of the temple grounds, he talked to us and the boys and told us some neat expereinces, then he let Nathan and Austin close and lock the gates.
-It was my birthday while we were in the Sacred Grove, we spent almost 3 hours there practically all alone. We walked the trails, sat on the benches, talked, shared our testimonies and said individual and a family prayer. It was incredible!

These are some of the places we visited:
The Grandin Building-The Book of Mormon Printing Press
Martin Harris Farm
Hill Cumorah
Erie Canal
Palmrya Temple
Joseph Smith's Log Home
The Smith Family Farm
The Sacred Grove
Peter Whitmer Farm
Harmony, Penn (Where the Priesthood was restored)
