Favorite Christmas Days

All month long we've had some fun adventures! These are some of the things we did to celebrate the Christmas season and enjoy the traditions of this wonderful holiday. For Family Home Evening we read the scripture story of the birth of Christ and set out our family Nativity in the center of our home. No matter which direction you are coming or going you pass by this table that the nativity is displayed on. My favorite part is taking a peek at the Nativity to see how the kids have rearranged it. Every once and a while I catch a glimpse of each of them looking at it and love watching their minds work and the questions they each ask me about our Savior's humble birth.
We went to visit Santa and had Mrs. Field Cookies and Hot Chocolate! This year we were able to talk Megan in giving Santa a "high five". Hey, it's better then the years before where she cried while we stood in line. Maybe next year we'll actually get a family picture with Santa.
Decorating sugar cookies with Grandma Lyn. Each year she makes the most wonderful, soft sugar cookies and have the kids cut them out into shapes of candy canes, stars, Christmas trees and bells. Then the kids frost and decorate them. I think Megan ate more frosting than cookies, Austin ate more sprinkles than anyone and Nathan loved to make a cookie for everyone in his family.

Making gingerbread houses! This year I lucked out because both of the boys were able to make them at school for a project.
