Happy Birthday Austin

Wednesday, April 29th was Austin's 6th Birthday! Wow, how time flies by so fast. We were just thinking that we moved in our home here in Kaysville just after his first birthday. I can't believe it! We had a great day on his birthday. It started off by breakfast in bed with streamers on his door, we made a poster "all about him" and took it to school to do a spotlight on him and had out class treats, then after school we headed off to watch "Monsters and Aliens" in 3D with eating out at his favorite place, "Panda Express" (Chinese food). Then yesterday we had his friends come over to our Carnival Party. They had tickets that could use to have their face painted, popcorn, games and treats. We had a great time and can't wait for our family party tomorrow.
We love Austin so much and can't imagine our family without him. He is truly a great kid who tries so hard to do what is right and one of his favorite things to do, besides play soccer and Lego's is "cuddle"! He gives the best hugs and has always wants to snuggle and sit on someones lap. We love you Austin!
For an update to the family on Austin... After many tests and trips to the hospital these last few months, they think they finally figured out what has been going on in his little body. No diabetes, no blockage in his kidney's, just a big long word that's tricky for him to say. The ultrasound and other tests that were done on Tuesday shows that he has Hydronephrosistal. Basically, his kidney's are functioning, but not working 100% with his muscles and brain to signal the bladder to make everything work right. So, it was putting stress on his kidneys and causing problems. Without going into too much explanation he is on medication for 6-18 months to hopefully fix the problem and if not, they said a simple surgery could do repair it. We want to thank everyone for all your prayers, phone calls and sweet notes. We feel very blessed and watched over these last few months and are grateful to live so close to a great hospital with great doctors.
