Christmas Eve at the Herbst's House
Christmas Eve was so much fun! I love having our own traditions and spending the day and evening with our kids. We started out the night by having a yummy candel light dinner with ham, cheesey potatoes, salad, home-made rolls, sparkeling apple cider and cheese cake. Then we hopped in the car to drive through the Layton City Lights. They are so fun and all animated! On our way home we saw a family who had built snow sculptures in their front yard. They were as tall as their house! They had cute Santa and Rudolf with a lighted nose. There was quite the crowed and they were so great to let everyone stop and take pictures. There are a lot of talented people! Afterwards, we went to a few friends homes to do some Christmas Caroling to bring goodies to them and headed home. Then we read in the scriptures about the birth of our Savior before we opened up one gift each. (Which is always a new pair of pajamas). What a great night it was and the kids headed quickly off to bed, but could hardly wait 'till Christmas morning!
