First Day of School

School started last week and I now have two kids in school! I can't believe it! Nathan is in 2nd grade and Austin started Kindergarten. Okay, so yes, I cried, again. How can I help it? Sending a new one to school for the first time is a very emotional time for me. Realizing that from now on, they will be going to school for the next 15+ years! The days at home with the little one is over and being able to do whatever I want on my agenda has ended. Although I love have a routine, I truly miss the kids while they are gone.
The first day was very exciting and Austin wanted to ride the bus with Nathan. We had Kindergarten orientation, so I followed the bus to school and met them there. Austin's teacher had a cute project to help the kids familiarize themselves with the school since it's their first time here. They had a scavenger hunt with their parents and we had to find things like their cubby, the library, restrooms, playground, coat racks, computer lab, and the office. After we got a sticker from each place, we finished the day with making school buses out of frosting, crackers and Oreo cookies with his friend, Abby.
