Today we drove to Longforgan. This little village is where Mike’s great-grandfather was born and lived for the first 10 years of his life. We spent about 4 hours there doing some genealogy and looking for gravestones in the cemetery. The church was locked, so we tracked down the local Reverend at that parish and he helped us with some information. He called one of the local village historians in town and she gave him an idea where some of the information was kept at the parish. We couldn’t find the records where she said they were but he is going to send it our way via email when he tracks it down. He was very helpful and tried to help out as best as he could. We had our own personal tour guide for a couple of hours. Then, we drove around to what we think was his farm and saw Castle Huntley which was near where he lived. We had a blast because we were on a “mission to find Grandpas heritage”.
