On Sunday, we drove to attend a ward/branch where Mike served in Dunfermline, across the Firth of Fourth, northwest of Edinburgh. It was so neat to meet the people that knew him years ago and to share our testimonies with them in fast and testimony meeting. What a spiritual experience we had. Most everyone recognized him and we handed out our gifts of CTR rings that we brought for all the primary and youth. After church, we were invited to a members home for dinner. Bro. and Sis. Rand feed us a wonderful meal. We also met their grandmother and son, Paul, his wife, Wendy and their two cute kids, Anabelle and Logan. We laughed and shared good stories. We then drove up to St. Andrews and explored the beautiful city. We saw the old famous golf course and then drove out to the beach where they filmed the movie, “Chariots of Fire”. We toured the Ivy League University, the old Abby, castle and graveyard. My favorite part was when we took a wrong turn and discovered an abandoned castle that was in a field of Scottish lavender. It was breathtaking! After, we finished our drive to Dundee and saw Mike’s flat where he lived. We also got to eat at his favorite place in the city at Corfu Kabob’s (Greek Gyros). Yummy!
