Fourth of July Celebration

What a great week-end we had celebrating the holiday! It started really early in the morning with Emily knocking on my door to take me to run my first 5K. Yes, I know it's a shocker. Camille ran. It was actually fun and I didn't do too bad. Many of you know that I have really bad knees, need surgery and that it's hard for me to run. Well, when I do run I look like Pheobe on Friends. (If you have no idea what that means, don't worry, it's probably better image not to put in your mind...yes, it's that scary) Anyway, about two weeks ago, she emailed me the challenge and I decided that it was for a good cause and did it. We had my family waiting for us at the finish line cheering for us. We went out for breakfast afterwards and then got dressed up in red, white and blue and headed to the old-fashioned Kaysville town parade. Every year my dad enters his 1931 Model A car and has his grand-kids ride in it and throw candy. They love it and think it's pretty neat to be "in" a parade instead of just watching it. Then we had a great BBQ at Melinda's house with home-made ice cream and all and then watched the fireworks. From our house, we can see 3 going on the same time, Layton, Kaysville and Lagoon's. What a great day and loads of memories.
